ICONSIAM, Bangkok

The ICONSIAM facing the Chao Phraya River

Inaugurated in 2018 (after an investment of US$1.65 billion), this riverside complex is said to be Thailand’s biggest commercial project. It’s made up of shops, restaurants, and entertainment, spread over eight floors, with literally thousands of local and international brands and dining options, including high-end labels like Louis Vuitton and Gucci, together with other more affordable brands.

The highlight for most visitors is the SookSiam, a huge themed area on the ground floor with its own small floating market, promoting Thailand’s food, arts and culture. At the top of the building is the River Museum Bangkok, hosting top international touring exhibitions.
Next door are two tall residential towers that are part of the complex, with luxury apartments.

In front is the public pier, the “River Park,” with Southeast Asia’s largest multimedia/dancing fountains creating a spectacle of light and sound at night, as they project water 35 meters high and in different directions.
